So I'm taking the Wilton I cake class. Here's my first cake from last night's class.

God Willing and the River Don't Rise

I used to live right on the the Mississippi River in St. Paul. Loved it! Miss it! But this year.......Looks like there may be major flooding. The husband & I went for a walk in the old 'hood last night to take a look at the rising levels. They're predicting that Shepard Road (part of the Mississippi River Road that runs the entire lenghth of the River) will be closed & under water. Not good.

This is USUALLY a walking path.

And don't let anyone tell you the bridges in MN need any work. Not true. They're all just fine.

Did I choose the wrong blog name?

So my choice may not have been the best seeing how life has turned recently. It seems all I blog about is cookies! And....here's another. These are the 'left overs' after I piped names on the best ones and brought them to my sisters for a cookie taste test. Her's vs. mine. Her flavor was better but my texture won.

This was my first attempt at gum paste. The flowers are super simple and i just kinda made up the bow. That will need more practice.

This is absolutely cracking me up!  I follow the Knock Off Wood Blog. She makes up plans for furniture that looks like the stuff you buy at Pottery Barn & William Sonoma & stuff. She shows people how to build it for a fraction of the cost to buy. I built a sofa table for behind my love seat based on her plans. But now the Big Guys are not happy with her. And these may be horrible photos, but here is my Knock Off Wood sofa table.

The second one, I pulled the table away from the wall so you can see it. It looks horribly dusty! I still need to find a couple of cute lamps and something to hang on the wall above it.

Turkey Bowling Cookies

Wow. So I totally didn't ever post the final 'guess the event' cookies. A huge group of us had a turkey bowling party in Lindstrom at the house of our friends. Crazyness. A frozen turkey is thrown down an alley of ice at bowling pins. No, I'm not a redneck. We had a four hole golfcourse too.

Cheap & Easy

Lately I have seen SO many cute frozen pop things. All these fun forms and recipies and books about and pics. I was really wanting to go buy a mold thingy and make some. I'm a little too cheap & lazy these days though, so this is my solution.
